Dear Subscriber,

Welcome to our first newsletter!!!
We are very pleased and excited to introduce ourselves to you.
Heirloom Crochet has only just begun, and in spite of the fact it is not quite finished, the response we have had has taken us completely and delightfully by surprise.
We are  receiving orders and testimonials beyond our expectations.
We hope to continue to grow and develop in a way that will be of interest and benefit to all crocheters, lace makers and needle workers.

Who are we??
Well, first and foremost we are lovers of crochet, needlework and lace of all kinds.
We are dedicated to the promotion and preservation of these skills.   There is something of a crochet revival of in progress, and  we hope to provide some tools that will help to restore the art to its former glory.
Crocheting and needlework are wonderful for mind and body and can  actually produces something beautiful!
Heirloom Crochet has a mission to provide ideas, inspirations, patterns, history and instructions for everyone from the beginner to experienced.

We have an enormous collection of vintage and antique crochet and needlework books that were treasured by our various Irish, English, Norwegian, Dutch, Greek and American mothers, grand-mothers and great-grandmothers from within our family tree. It is a collection as diverse as its owners, covering all kinds of crochet, needlework and lace-making.  It is  our priceless base, and for the last few years we have been seriously searching for and purchasing books to add to or  to complete a series or set of volumes. We believe our collection is now second to none; still we expect it to continue to grow, in spite of the fact that  it is becoming increasingly difficult to find quality original antique and vintage books.

We chose Adobe PDF as the format for reproducing our books, because it creates an exact digital copy of each page - it is very user friendly and easily accessible by anyone with a computer. To learn more about how to get and use Adobe go to ADOBE INFORMATION

In addition to our original inheritance of books, we also have a large collection of all kinds of beautiful hand made laces and needlework which we will from time to time display, for your enjoyment and inspiration.

We are also fortunate to have within our family, all kinds of skilled people who have given their time and skills to produce Heirloom Crochet. It began with web site creation by Maria; book restoration, including digital restoration, scanning of books by Chris; Adobe PDF and CD production and  promotion by Pieter, and writing and newsletter by yours truly. Together, we believe we have created a worthwhile addition to any crochet or lace maker’s life.

Because the highest quality of skills and products have been brought together to build Heirloom Crochet, we have the utmost pride in the result, and we feel we have achieved our ultimate aims.
1 restore and preserve the antique and vintage books which describe the crochet, lace and needlework skills from yesteryear
